hi
some of you wrote that i shouldnt get my wisdom teeth extracted, it could make the tmj symptoms worse. I was diagnosed with tmj a week ago and my symptoms started 2 weeks ago.
I am scared now. My doctor didn't seem to be concerned about it, my appointment is in a couple of days........
But he is not a specialist, just a dentist....... I am living on a military base overseas, so i can't get another opinion. I am so scared i will make the wrong decision......and make everything worse.......
I have to say that right now i am feeling much better. The symptoms just stopped. One day i felt so bad and the next morning i felt great. With no medication..... No more headaches, no more blurry vision, no more numbness in the face and no more pain......
I am just so scared that when i get the wisdomteeth out, it will start all over again or worse....... But they really have to get out. One tooth is still in the jawbone.....It's very close to a nerve.
For some reason i'm hoping to have no more problems after i get this teeth out, because my symptoms seemed to start right where my wisdom teeth is.
thanks for reading

In my opinion, I'd opt for splint therapy first until you've gone for awhile without any symptoms. Then, I'd consider getting the wisdom teeth extracted.

HI
I had my wisdom teeth out before I started with my splint. It didn't make anything better, but it didn't help either. The doctor who took out my wisdom teeth ended up sending me to a different doctor after the splint he made didn't seem to be helping me after about 6 months.
