That's great Thumsclerk. How did you lose so much in so short a time? Please let us know. I find that success stories are very motivating for me and, I'm sure, for others.

I am on the Lindora Lean for Life program. I started with a 6 week on line program and then just continued on my own. It's low fat, low carb, moderate protein and has the structure that I needed to gain control of my eating. I also do a lot of miles on my exercise bike and walk at night.

Leanne, that's awesome that you have lost so much! Over 100 lbs! Wow!

Hi Leeanne! Can you please share how you are losing the weight?

much appreciation - HONEYDEWS

For breakfast I eat the same thing everyday, 1 cup of puffed wheat with 1/2 cup of all bran (1% milk) maybe an apple or yogurt also

lunch is maybe some soup and toast or a couple of sanwiches with fruit or if I feel like baking I make some muffins

dinner I eat whatever I want

snacks are fruit or rice cakes

I drink a liter and a half of water 5 days a week and split 1.5 liters over the weekend .. sometimes with lemon or lime

exercise twice a day 5 days a week (walk away the pounds videos .. 2, 3 or 4 mile videos during the day and always do a 1 mile in the evening after dinner)
outdoor walks at least twice a week for at least an hour, usally on the weekends cause I don't do the videos then

I also cut out salt and sugar, I only drink pop maybe once every 6 months

The one thing I have learned is that asking for advice when dieting is good but you have to find your own comfort zone or else it's easier to give up. I have also stopped calling it a diet cause it's a lifestyle change and you have to live with it for life

I'm 23, 5'2" and weigh 163. At the beginning of July I was at a little under 200 and have lost about 35 pounds since then. I still want to lose about 35 or 40 more pounds.

Alright, I am 22 years old and started my change in lifestyle a month ago, back then I was 324 pounds, today I weight a little over 308, I am really happy and motivated, because after so many years of wanting to lose weight it finally looks like I might have a real chance at doing it... seriously, to me this is comparable to winning the lotery!!

errr... forgot to tell my height, I think I am like 5'10 or something, not sure tho... back in mexico I used to be 1.79 meters, and I dont think I am taller now.

BTW, if I make some writing mistakes just ignore them, I came to the US 3 years ago and my english is not as good as it should be.

HI EVERYONE

I am 40, 5 feet 8 inches, at my heaviest I was at 315, I am now at 268. I am using the South Beach Diet plan and it works very well for me. I am also diabetic - type 2. So watching the carbs and sugar is very healthy for me too! :)

I lost 8 pounds the first two weeks of the plan, I have only lost 2 more since then but I have had some personal set backs. I know what I need to do it is just doing it that is the hard part. I really want to get back to taking a fast walk every night, once I get in the habit of it I love it but if I stop it takes awhile to talk myself into it again!!! I have three kids still at home and it seems like there is something I have to do every night after work. I know, I know, I need to make that time for me, and I will. Soon.

Good luck to all of you, it is a lot of hard work as we all know so lets keep each other posted and motivated and keep cheering each other on!! :bouncing: I know it sure helps me!

resolutionmia,
i hope your screenname isn't a bulimia reference. if so, please know that there are much safer healthier ways of losing the weight that won't wreck your body and leave you feeling depressed and hollow. if you need help, be sure to ask for it, you have too much great life ahead to let something like that get its claws into you.

don't worry it isn't! My name is Mia, and i am in a music group called Resolution. But why would it be considered a bulimia reference?

phew, what a releif!
i've discovered pro-eating disorder websites all over the internet, where people, especially young girls "support" (basically encourage) each other to continue in very dangerous and destructive eating patterns, including anorexia and bulimia as a way to lose weight. it's amazing really, there are so many of these sites. 'ana' is used as shorthand/code for anorexia, and is spoken of almost like a person or friend of the girls who have it. "mia" is used as shorthand for bulimia.

i think mia is a gorgeous name, btw. i just got a little bit worried because i have a friend who is bulimic and it is horrible to see her suffer, and i just wanted to make sure you weren't heading down that path. VERY glad to hear that's not the case!!

ykceb,

If you go to the thread named "Need to lose 150+ pounds..." I kind of explained how the program works that I am on. The book I bought is called Lean for Life and you really do need to read it to follow the program. The books outlines the plan, but it also stresses the mental changes that need to take place to be successful... Hopefully, this may help you...

Good luck and God bless,
