Does anyone have any recommendations for a good book on understanding the way a child's mind/behaviors develop? My 4 year old daughter is going through a very angry time right now where she's just plain mean! She's our only child and we have a very happy, completely non-violent, non-agressive household. Lately, she is treating us like dirt and I just don't understand it. I'm sure some of it is her age and I want to better understand what is happening with her current stage of development so that I can know how to respond to her better. I don't want to just keep getting mad and punishing her for her bad behavior if there is a better way to handle it.

Any ideas?

Thank you!
Tina
