Please help me!!!
I had Bornchitis in Jan and in Feb my lips started to swell at school and i checked out and went to the dr. He told me that it was just a reaction to the viral infection and that it would go away but that it could also be some kind of defiency, i'm not sure what kind. Anyway I get these ichy bumps on me when I lay down on my bed and at least once a week my lips swell they tingle and get kinda numb. It kinda hurts to. the bumbs go away in a couple of hours like they were never there and my lips always stop swelling but I want to know what is causing it. I have washed my sheets and everything but it hasn't helped I don't know what to do. My Forehead and elbows have also swollen before. Please help me if you can. Does anyone know what kind of defiency he was talking about! What are you doing to help stop it. I take Benadryl and it helps a little. Thanks

You are experiencing a very serious allergic reaction to something! Please insist on seeing an allergist to find what is causing this reaction. If your doctor refuses a referral, go to a different doctor! what you describe are early symptoms of anaphylaxis, which can be life threatening. In the mean time, at the very first sign of a these symptoms take benadryl or another antihistimine.

You are having a severe allergy attack when your lip swells. This is called deep hives or giant hives. I hand those kinds of attacks on my feet, hands, and knee joints. My doctor had no idea what was going on. You are allergic to something, could be what you eat or breathe. Sometimes with hives you will have one or two attacks and then you will never have another. First read about hives then find an allergist.

Thank you both so much I went back to the Dr a few weeks ago and he prescribed Zertec! So far i haven't had any more hives and my lips are fine. I have been taking it for about three weeks now and so far so good. It makes me feel better to know that i'm not the only person battling with this!!!

check with an allergist - sounds like urticaria/angioedema - probably pressure-induced. I've been living with it (autoimmune urticaria/angioedema) for over 10 years - best advice is to take it easy as much as you can... and hopefully get some good meds ... antihistamines are not helpful for me; am having to go the immuno-suppressive route. find a doc you like and who respects you enough to really hear you out - fire anyone who doesn't! you deserve someone who is kind, patient and understanding - we all do! good luck!

hey, are you putting anything on your lips, ie. chapstick. petrolatum etc? these could be violators. Also, it could be something you are putting in your body not on. I had a horrible reaction a while back and started using Bcomplex vitamins and zinc and coQ10 as well as drinking plenty of carrot juice and I haven't had a recurrence since. I think you may need to see a doctor too but just wanted to mention what naturally worked for me.
