I was wondering if anyone else has lightheadedness as a part of pms......mine starts about a day or two after ovulation and last until about a day before I start......I have been keeping track of it over the last several months and it is definitly somehow related to my menstrual cycle....I was just wondering what hormorne may be out of balance that could be causing this and what alternative treatments if any could help. This is a lightheadedness in which I can still walk around with but is uncomfortable. Thanks in advance!!

I have the same thing, and mine starts about 6 days after ovulation. My mother also had severe lightheadedness, also, and hers went away as she aged. Anyway, I have NO IDEA what hormone could be out of whack, but it sure is horribly annoying, and makes you feel really cruddy. I was slightly underweight and as soon as I gained about 10 pounds, I don't have as MUCH lightheadednes before my period. I know since I said I was underweight it sounds as if it's related to my eating, but like you, it is undoubtedly related to my menstrual cycle, also. I wish I could give you an explanation, but I need one, too:) Hey, you're not alone.

Hi,

You both have to remember that you are losing blood, that is why you are lightheaded.

I get the same way all of the time, take an iron supplement every day for a week before your period so it won't be so bad.

I hope this helps you both.

Thank you both for your replies.....Grace mine is also before I start my period and actually stops the day before I actually start....Solstice....sorry that u suffer from this too.....but nice to know I am not alone.....I have done research and research and still cannot find an answer....my gyno just said it was a part of pms but could not explain why....a friend suggested to me that it could be caused by fluid build up on the inner ear since we do retain water before we start and I also have a inner ear problem....noticed u did to so maybe this is it! I am researching any links on that now......I am a worry wart and have to have a answer for everything..lol!! I will keep u updated!! Thanks again!!
