My daughter complains of stomach aches almost everyday lately. She has been to the doctor about it before and they said it was nothing.
It's usually just constipation or wind but it hangs around for days.
Any ideas?

Sounds a lot like my daughter who is now 13. She started complaining about stomach pain when she was four, had frequent bouts with constipation, gas, etc. All the doctors could ever say was that maybe it was stress induced. I started watching to see exactly when her stomach did hurt and was it really stress or actually something physical. Last year, at 12, she had tests including stool sample, blood work, the whole nine-yards. That doctor also thought maybe it was stress induced. On a whim, I asked if Sadie could possibly be lactose-intolerant as the pain seemed to onset after eating cereal in the morning. He said that yes, it could definitely be that and to try eliminating dairy products for a while to see how she felt. Instead, I bought over-the-counter Lactaid and tried it. Whenever she is going to eat or drink something with milk or cheese in it, she takes one little caplet with the first bite/drink. Guess what!?! She actually was lactose-intolerant all those years and the Lactaid actually works wonders for her (her doctor confirmed it in a follow-up visit). Why couldn't one doctor, during all of those years of stomach discomfort, have thought of that one little possibility??? I was amazed at how simple it was to fix for her!!! If she misses the Lactaid, she will still have a lot of gas problems or is still occasionally constipated, but she is doing much better now.
Hopefully, it may be that simple for your daughter. I would try the Lactaid for a few days when she has dairy products - it couldn't hurt. If that doesn't seem to remedy the problem, then I would have the doctors test further or maybe go to a pediatric internist. I still can't believe not one doctor thought of lactose-intolerance!!!!!
Good luck!!!

Well I did think of that, about the lactos and come to think of it over the past week or so she has been having heaps of milkshakes and stuff.
I might give it a go of cutting some things out, like the milkshakes and see how she goes.
Thanks guys.
