I have bad allergies to dust, dustmites, ragweed and molds and I also suffer from episodes of feeling like I can't get a deep breath and it causes me to make myself try to yawn to feel like I am breathing deep enough.does anyone have similar symptoms?

Used to get a yawn response from allergies and sometimes during aerobic workouts. Allergy shots helped. Suggest you try yoga, Pilates or any type of exercise program that teaches you how to breathe more deeply and effectively.

ur not alone.nohow.i've had this since i'm around 14 and i'm in my lat 30's now.
i discovered in my mid 20's its due to mold irritants like you said.
i too have the dastardly allergic problem(sinusitis)i've taken flonase for; and also overcounter sudafed or a mild decongestant such as zyrtek.
such things assist in my symptoms; however this is a problem i will have forever.
when i was a preteen i suffered w/severe symptoms such as watery eyes, and runny nose.
i also have a slightly deviated septom
and i believe that i'm doing very well right coping w/all this.
i take the meds infrequently as i take a moderated multi vitamin and have learned to take care of myself better ie no smoking and less drinking of citrus drinks.
some milk products also cause me the breathing spasm.
the breathing spasm is no fun believe me i know.
i've had attacks which a doctor called "panic-allergic" response.
if you have a trigger such as someone's fragrance or cologne ie,it would trigger a panic attack; hence one feeding off the other.
or it can be reversed, where i first have the panic reaction and the allergy exacerbates that.

Yes...allergies can cause you to develope asthma. Have you seen an allergist?

Oh my Gosh!! You described exactly what I have. I have been tested for allergies and of course I have them, but I also went through all the pulmonary breathing test they do for asthma patients and all and my lung capacity was normal, but I get those episodes that last somrtimes up to 2 weeks where I am so out of breath and can not take in deep breaths and do the yawn thing all day. I don't know what it is but I want it to stop.

I have had the same breathing problems, it is not regularly only once in a while, ESPECIALLY around smoke. My doctor prescribed an inhaler, which I only use when I need it, it lasts me a long time.

The shortness of breath is part of the whole allergic reaction. Can't really explain the whole process, histamine is released in response to the presence of the allergen. Histamine causes swelling and that causes mucus buildup. Bronchioles will then swell from all this, hence shortness of breath. Something like that. That's my best effort.
