My 10 year old brother has ADHD. I've heard many pro's & con's about medication for this disorder. There are so many choices on how to control this, between stimulant/non-stimulant drugs or naturally. I personally feel treating naturally is the better option. What are some ways to treat ADHD naturally??

Kia,
There are some great posts on this board. - we started my daughter on becalm'd about 2 weeks ago and her teacher told me there was a very slight improvement. BECALM"D can be ordered over the internet. We are going to try the natural route before we try meds ( even though the counselor is suggesting that is the way to go)
Free Spirit is a wealth of knowledge - read some of her posts.

Good luck

I am an adult male with ADD and on Dexidrine. by all means try the natural methods first. I have been able to reduce my meds by 25% with fish oil. Its the omega 3's that the brain needs. It is something almost everyone should be on. It is a good fat that our diets usually do not contain enough. Now with fish oil it will take 2-4 weeks to fully kick in. I do suggest two gel caps per day. and take them before a meal, if I take it after I get fishy burps. Make sure you get fish oil that has been filtered for heavy metals like mecury. If your son still has problems with the fish oil caps, (they are on the big size) there are some orange flavored gels available. :bouncing: Now if you have exausted all the natural aids and you are still having trouble do try some of the meds. I know I can not surrvive without them.

I think the size of some of the capsules are the toughest part for the kids.

My son bites on the gelcaps until the oil squirts out in his mouth (he doesn't mind the oily taste), and then spits the gelcap out.
