Hello, I am new to this board. I had hammertoe surgery about 8 months ago on my left foot. The surgery was done on my big toe, and 2nd/5th digit toes. The calluses are now gone, but my big toe is still swollen (the other two toes are fine). My surgeon said that swelling can last up to a year. However, he also said the swelling could never go away! That really did scare me! What can I do? Should I take anti-inflammatory pills or opt for a cortisone injection or get an MRI? Please help!
