Male 77 years old---sudden start --alot of blood in urine. Emerg DR after cystoscope said not a bladder problem but a prostate problem. Will have surgery . Could prostate cause this much blood and not be cancer???? One week so far in hospital and still alot of blood. Will have surgery Tuesday. Supposed to just get "reamed out"... Will this stop blood loss????

A friend of mine who is 90 had this reaming out and says there was nothing to it. He was back to normal in no time. Not sure he had blood in the urine.
