I have a right foot that is numb on the bottom next to my toes. My toes are a little numb but not as bad as the foot. When I walk it feels like theres nothing ther. Has any one had this type of problem?

Hi Ray,

I would have to say that any numbness that is unexplainable (no recent surgeries or injuries) is a red flag. If I were you, I would definitely have a blood sugar test for diabetes. Numbness in the bottom of the feet could be the start of diabetic neuropathy. Untreated diabetes can lead to permanent nerve damage and even amputations.

Please have this checked out as soon as possible.

Ron

Ray,

I have the same problem except it's both feet, swelling in my right foot and fingers, palpitations, shortness of breath, and fatigue. I woke up with it a week ago today. I've been having the fatigue for a long time. I went to the doctor last Thursday, and he put me on Lasix 20 mg once a day for three weeks. The swelling and palpitations went away, but I still have the numbness and fatigue.

I had a yearly blood workup done last month, and everything was normal. Prior to that, whenever the hospital has free blood sugar and cholesterol screenings, I would go and get them checked. Again, they've always been normal.

When I finish the Lasix, I'm going to have an echo and Holter.

Like Ron said, please go and have it checked out. It's better to be safe than sorry.
