View Full Version : I think they're about to send me off to the looney bin!

Had the EMG and NCT tests done yesterday. Weren't neraly as bad as I thought they would be. The NCT was more annoying than the EMG! So I have the tests done and wait for Dr. Gracias to come back with the results. I thought for sure that it was my nerves b/c the last one he did for the EMG brought on all the pain I've been having. He comes in and says "Normal EMG, Normal NCT". I about lost it again. How can all of these tests be normal when I have all of this pain? So he referred me to the Pain Clinic and I'm to talk to them about a Neurostimulator. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrated by all of this! Why are they not finding anything wrong with me? I'm beginning to doubt myself and have even made an appt. with a shrink. I just can't deal with it all anymore and I need some help figuring out what the heck is going on. Thanks for all of your support. I probably shouldn't even be here anymore since there's nothing wrong with me. I wish you all the best of luck and hope you all find relief!

Goodbye!

Krys,

What did the doctor say about the fact that the tests brought on so much pain? I guess that these types of tests can cause pain adn come back as "normal"...that really is a good thing...meaning that your nerves are in good shape. But, I believe that because the tests caused you so much pain the doctor would order more tests to pinpoint the pain generator(s)...a discogram maybe.

Sorry for the run around you are experiencing.....

Mark

BTW...we all need a rubber room at one time or another :D

KRYSV,

I don't remember reading other posts from you. Have they done an MRI or myelogram?

Maybe if this neurologist or surgeon is hard to get answers from, you could try seeing another doctor. If nothing else, perhaps the "shrink" you're going to see could recommend someone.

Please stay around, and let us know how things are going.
