Hi everyone,
I am going through a rough patch at the moment. I thought it was over but the last few days have been horrible. I forced myself to go shopping today as I hate being stuck in the house since I spent so much time at the beginning of the year stuck indoors with labyrinthitis. I felt dreadful walking around (I forgot how weird you can feel) and it made me feel panicky again. I feel like I want to cry. I'm sure this will pass - just needed to get it off my chest.

Dear Ruth:
So sorry to hear you are going through a rough patch. I'm sure it is only temporary but I understand that enough is enough. I always seem to get hit with a rough patch when ever we get alot of rain. Feeling real sorry for myself today, probably because I am soooo premenstrual. I told my husband last night tht since I hit my one year mark maybe tomorrow I would wake up to a miracle and it would be all over. Hope you start to feel better again soon.
all the best,
Kathy
So sorry you're feeling bad, Ruth,
Didn't you just have a bad throat - maybe that's what did it? You will compensate again and probably very quickly. I'll join you on the forgotten how awful this can make you feel - had flu last week - really rough - high temperature, bed bound etc... Still getting over it and wow have my dizzies deteriorated - I'm full of gloom, very grumpy - I was doing sooo well before the flu hit - although I just have to believe I will compensate again.
You've been doing so well, Ruth, this will be a minor blip, you will get back to where you were, just do a bit of VRT - try and keep active, you're brain's mastered it once, it will master it again. Lots of my friends seem to be ill at the mo, winter viruses etc.... I think it just hits us dizzy sufferers so much harder.
Scant - just to say that if it is MAV you have, then feeling rougher before your period is very common with that. Roll on the neurologist I say, I'm extremely optimistic that with the progress you've made so far, get on the right migraine drug for you and you could be out of the woods completely. I'm off to bed, very tired, so I'll answer your question on the other thread tomorrow.
best,
hbep.

Thankyou both for your good wishes. You know how it can get you really down sometimes! I am very thankful that these tend to come in patches now and not all the time and I pray that for those of you who are still constantly dizzy that it will get better for you. Today was definitely better, the disorientation is coming and going and I feel better. Yes Kathy - the PMT does not help with the head monster!!!
Hbep - yeah I had a horrible virus and ended up with a very tight chesty cough although thankfully the virus kept away from my ears which is what I was most concerned about as I have a tendency towards ear infections! I was feeling a lot better at the end of last week (apart from the tight chest) and then on Saturday started feeling really crappy again. Weird - I had absolutely NO DIZZINESS or disorientaion during the whole of the cold then I get it right at the end?!!!
So sorry you have been ill too - it really sets you back doesn't it? Yes - I get very grumpy sometimes with it all - especially when I have made massive progress and then go backwards - and I feel like not everyone understands, you know?
Yep I'm back to my exercises again this last few days - stick with them - I'm convinced they do help.
Yes - us dizzies seem to get hit very hard when we get viruses and stuff!
Take care everyone,
Ruth

Do hope the exercises work Ruth. Weird about what you said about the dizziness coming at end of the cold. This is what I found....Very odd! Hope you feel better soon xxx

Colds a nd flu will cause swelling, inflamation and congestion and a off balance feeling even to those who never had Labs. Handg in there......it will get better. What you are feeling is normal with a virus. I have migraines......and am now on atenolol for high blood pressure. The Doc told me this med. also helps curb some of the migraines.......you might want to discuss this with your Doc.
