Hi. I'm taking ebastine for the seasonal allergies, and I've been on it for two weeks now. Before that I was taking Clarityn, but it didn't keep my symptoms in control well enough. Now I'm experiencing a dry mouth from ebastine (it is listed as one of the most common side effects) and it's driving me nuts. If I stop taking ebastine now, what do you think, should this annoying side effect go away in a few days? Similar experiences, anyone?
Thank you in advance for your input.

Are your allergy symptoms being relieved? If so, I would recommend to suck on pepperment candies, etc until the annoying side effect of dry mouth disappears. Give the drug a chance to work. Antihistamines have a drying effect.

Yes, smccallrnc. But the dry mouth thing did not appear early on like the side effects usually do, but two weeks into the drug. It became so horrible that it almost drove me crazy. So I stopped taking the drug, I think I gave it chance enough!! I have the allergy symptoms back but frankly the dry mouth was worse than them.
