View Full Version : Period-related OBs

Hi Ladies (and guys if you're reading, although you don't have menstrual cycles)

I'm just curious, if you have OBs with your period, at what point in your cycle do they occur? I'm on the pill and I get one the first Tuesday when I start my pills back up, it's basically one week exactly from the start of my period, but my period is over. Like clockwork. I'm just wondering when other people get their OB and if it's as totally predictable. I'm going to try and nip this one before it starts. I've never tried to bombard before it happens, I'll let you know how it goes!

I just had symptons of my 2nd. OB, and it was 1 week, prior to my period starting. I think it's a hormonal thing. It started on the exact same spot as my 1st. OB, which was just one month ago. I'm using an aloe vera gel spray, to help heal the blisters and it's working, great!

Take care, -Orn

Hi
I get it during my period too. Usually the 1st day or 2 days before. Just curious I thought the pill would actually make that better being that the pill lessons the symtoms of PMS ...cramps etc,,,,
is that true?

I don't know if the pill helps or not. The one I'm on a low-dose pill that stays the same for the whole time and it would seem that it would keep the hormone fluctuations in check. I've thought about just taking it all the way through (sorry backpacker, I know it makes you cringe...) so as to avoid my period altogether. Supposedly this is safe to do, but I'm just not sure it's a great idea. And besides, I'd like to try to somehow avoid an OB altogether, period and all.
Everyone seems to get their OB before or during their period, but I get mine after, and it's when I start my pill back up, so I wonder sometimes if there's a correlation there.
Who knows, H is a tricky little devil. If I didn't dislike this virus so much I'd have a lot of respect for it's ingenuity and ability to constantly reinvent itself!

Poor mra; whatever you feel you must do is OK with me! As long as you're making an informed decision.

I get my ob's usually on the first day of my period, give or take a day. So far this month--with my period almost over now--I have not had one, and I credit the Olive Leaf Extract and the oral garlic/garlic oil combo.

Thanks backpacker. If there's one thing I've realized about you it's that being judgemental is not your thing. I only said that because someone had mentioned it in another post and you had expressed concern. :)
So glad to hear about your success with the OLE. I take it as well along with the garlic. I also take Lysine first think in the morning. I'm finishing up my period in a few days and we'll see if I avoided an OB this time. A lot of times mid-month I might have a little itch or something and this month has been smooth sailing, so I'm hoping to avoid it this month all together. Knock on wood.
I was talking to a woman who deals in herbs and suppliments and she said that OOO really is an awesome anti-viral, which we've all discussed on the board, but which she reiterated. I'm thinking that taking it just around my period time could be something to try... but first I'll see where I'm at with what I'm taking now.(at one point i was trying OOO under the toungue and burnt the dickens out of it, I could hardly eat for like a week! I'll definitely do capsules next time). I got VERY little sleep last night, (which is a knows contributor to OBs, of course) so I'm going to have to make it up big time tonight.

I'm right with you on the sleeping. The hardest thing in life is to get enough sleep!

I never did get an ob, and considering the period, insomnia, and 2 arguments with my oldest boy (he's 16; normal teen-age stuff, nothing real bad, but upsetting as all arguments must be) last week, I'd say the Olive Leaf plus oral garlic plus garlic oil (I just applied for 3 of the most sensitive days) worked like a charm. In fact, it probably was considered a charm in the past! The only problem is that it is expensive.

I hope you continue to be ob-free!
