I have been refered here from the Pain Management Board hoping to gain some insight to this terrible chronic pain, in my arch and toes, that doctors are reluctant to operate on caused by Ledderhose Disease. I believe due to lack of experience and understanding, here in the United States, I have had to do a lot of research and come to understand that this is an unusual hereditary problem of people of Celtic descent. The successful operations have been few and far between with common reoccurrence of the tumor growth with rapid regeneration.
Does anybody have any idea on pain control of Ledderhose Disease in the arch of the foot?
I am at present overloaded with steroids and can no longer take any more due to vast increases in blood sugar levels due to Type II Diabetes. I presently take duragesic 50 every 48 hours and ultram 100 for breakthrough pain which is not controlling my pain very well. I also take a host of other medicines to numerous to name. I have become tired of all medicines and burden of expense and would like any input as to the results of surgery or any other therapies on this problem. I also have had neck fusion, C-4567, two new herniated discs, 5 umbilical hernia surgeries, and had my gallbladder removed. My Thyroid gland was lost due to neck surgery. All this comes from 30 years of industrial air conditioning work.
It is nice to have found a board that lets me know I am not alone in having this wierd pain. I never thought I would be here ever in my life. Any thoughts of arch foot surgery with nerves involved would be appreciated. My family and children would also appreciate this dearly as I am in constant pain that not only consists of my foot, but my other problems too, yet at present my foot has far outweighed the others in pain.
