My Copra runs out this month and I applied for health insurance with Blue Cross. I was accepted but the price was $1620/month. I was recently dx with MS and they are the only company in the state that will give you insurance with that dx.But who can afford this rate? I can't work. If I could afford that then I wouldn't need the insurance.I complainted to the State Insurance Comm. who said that they could set their own rates and that they couldn't do anything about it. I even wrote my state representative.Just venting. I did call my current insurance company. I heard about something called guarrented policy and I am to recieve some information about it in the mail . Of course the person didn't know how much it was going to cost. I will let you know. Thanks for listening

I'm not sure which state you are in but most have insurance pools that you can get coverage from. They're not always cheaper but sometimes it's the only alternative for people with pre-existing conditions. Just a thought if worse comes to worse. And BCBS is the generally the most competitive for individual insurance...sad but true. Good luck.
