Hi all! I just thought that I'd share my experiences with you as I was glad when someone did the same. Over the past 12 years I have been prescribed SSRI's and SNRI's for PTSD. It was not until recently that I learnt they were actually making me worse - I was so confused that I could not even make the association in my head. I suffered with panic, derealization, depression, suicidal ideation, mood swings, anxiety, tremors, nausea, dizziness, concentration difficulties & extremely erratic behaviour.
I literally lost 12 years of my life to the drugs, and it's had longer term implications as well - my behaviour became so erratic that I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder & now I have to give up my aim of becoming a Doctor of Clinical Psychology, as they won't accept people with that diagnosis! I have attempted to tell the doctors that it's the meds, but unfortunately they appear to have their heads buried in the sand. Oh well, the good news is that I'm getting my life back on track for the first time - just by slowly withdrawing from the meds! I can now think clearly & my fiance can't believe the difference in me. I'm not saying that everyone is going to have adverse reations to these drugs - but it's well worth checking the drugs out. Take care
