hey...a couple of weeks ago i started feeling a little dizzy every now and then ... then i developed an ear ache, which hurt mainly when pressure was applied to my ear or in front of it. My dad is a doctor so he looked in my ear and said my eardrum was fine but the canal was red and inflamed, so i got medicine, but i never used it and the ear ache went away. The dizziness then seemed to go away but a few days ago, I stood up and started walking and I got really dizzy like the room was spinning. I talked to a nurse who told me that I might be getting sick and that's what occurs before you become sick. Now, a few days later, I am sick and have been for a little while but when i was walking tonight i became really dizzy again, and it felt as though the room was spinning. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Do you think the dizziness with the ear ache and the more recent spinning dizinees are unrelated? do I have an inner ear problem? please help if you can....thanks

It definitely sounds inner ear related....but Im no doc so get it checked, but like I said it fits the description....do you have just quick little dizzy spells? Or do you kinda feel unsteady since you've been sick?....anyway go ask your doc about it and anyone in this forum will be willing to talk to you about it..I know it's scary and I've been fighting something similar for a while....I hope it all clears up quick for you...take care.. fighter

thanks...theyre mostly quick dizzy spells which pass within a minute or two, but a few weeks ago it was less intense, but pretty constant. I always just felt a little off. Any suggestions? thanks

I'm no expert, but I have been told that Labyrinthitis can come on the coat tails of another virus. I know when I had the flu several years ago I ended up being buzziheaded and disconnected for a whole month afterward. When I was initially attacked with Labyrinthitis (which was the beginning of my chronic troubles) I had no other symptoms of illness, it just hit me in the middle of the night, and I was in a major vertigo attack.
Do a web search on labyrinthitis or vestibular disorders and see if it fits what's going on with you. I have comed to learn there's a lot of guess work and wait and see stuff with this kind of thing. It's nice that your Dad is a doctor, maybe he can help you sort this out and get you to the right specialist if this persists.
Good luck and keep us posted,
Julianne
