Just wondering what foods everyone that has dentures ate their first week.I still have stitches in so been careful, been living off of soup, ensure drinks and baby food.altho i did manage to gulp 2 eggs and some hash browns or shredded potatos the other night;I've been scared to mess with much food for fear of it getting lodged in my sockets.I was so hungry earlier i felt like i was gonna explode-as im writing this im on my 4th bowl of soup lol
Hi again B.Bach
Lets see... yogurt, applesauce, oatmeal, instant breakfast, pastas (cut up), ground beef, and rice. Those last three can be served up in different combinations. Many vegetables like green beans, peas and carrots can be mushed up against the roof of your mouth with your tongue if they are well cooked. You've already covered eggs and potatoes. They can be made in a variety of ways that don't need chewing.
If foods get stuck in the extractions sites most should come out with a slightly vigorous rinse. If something should really get stuck in a socket, most drug stores sell syringes (such as an ear syringe) that can be used to gently flush out the offending food.
