Recently, I've noticed that there is something sticking out of the right side of my tonsil. I don't know if my tonsil is torn or not but I couldn't make out what it was so I poked it and it bled a bit. It doesn't hurt or anything. I don't have bad breath or snore. I do have occasional sore throats and dry mouths but I've never noticed anything like this before. It seems to be sticking out on the side of my mouth and through the tonsil...
Any ideas? It's creeping me out!!!

Hi smiav,
Is it white, kind of like a cottage cheese curd? If yes, it could be a tonsilolith -- commonly called a tonsil stone. Take a look at the tonsil stones thread on page 2 of Open Boards. You'll find a lot of people who have experiences with them and have invented ways to remove the stones without causing their tonsils to bleed. Most of us thought it was pretty freaky, too, when we first discovered these things in our tonsils!
