Hello,

Does anyone have any information on how tmj disc's thickness is related to tmj disorder?

I have my discs in place, but I'm feeling constant pain in my joint on the right side. So I wonder if my disc has lost its natural thickness after having been compressed by strained muscles over years, causing pain in the joint.

Also, once the disc has become reduced, would it be possible the reduced disc regains its normal thickness with the splint therapy? I once heard that tmj discs' regeneration ability is far better than other discs.

my understanding is that once the disc is damaged, it will not repair itself.
