Dodgytoe-
Isn't yout surgery tomorrow? I just want to wish you the best of luck. Do let us know how it is going when you are able.
I did get a second opinion regarding my toe, the answer came back as fusion. This time the Dr. was able to answer my questions. Of course I was better prepared this time.
Take care! -eko

Eko,
Thanks for thinking about me.
I got home from hospital yesterday after my fusion. The doctor fused it by using two screws and he was very happy with the position of the toe after surgery.
I've got a cast up to my knee and i'm non-weightbearing for 2 weeks.
The pain isn't too bad, it just stings alot!!! But i've got pain killers whic do the trick.
I'll keep you all updated on my progress.
x
Glad you are home. You are non-weightbearig for two weeks, what is suppose to happen after the two weeks?
Keep taking those pain killers and I hope that it all goes well for you. Keep me updated.

I've got an appointment on Mon 15th Dec. They are going to check the wound and remove the stitches (probably thought a hole they make in the cast). I've then got the cast on for another 4 weeks, i think that they are also going to take an x-ray to see how the bones are doing and then i'll be able to start weight bearing (only a little at first i think).
The pain isn't too bad i'm only taking the pain killer when absolutley needed as they are very strong.
I let you know how i get on on monday.

I am glad to hear that you are doing well so far. I hope you get good news at your appointment. :) I bet they'll remove the cast to take your stitches out and put a new one on. There's a ton of padding in those casts and they'll want to clean the wound I assume. Take good care and keep me updated.
Best Wishes - eko
Dodgytoe, did you have your appointment this week? How did it go? I hope any news you received was good. -EKO
