Since fall 2001 I have had headaches mostly on the left side of my head, but not migraines. I have had MRI's which detected a chiari II malformation, but asymptomatic. The pain is always in the same spot, back and top of head, always in same location. Sometimes accompanied by left eye and left ear pain. I have also developed (resting?) tremors which start in my lower spine and move to my neck and arms. I have seen a neurologist, who generally feels that it isn't serious. I have been prescribed several drugs, most recently Neurontin, which I took for over 1 year, with no real change, so I stopped about 7 months ago. For the most part, I've had no major bouts with tremors since. However, I recently started using albuterol inhaler for acute bronchitis, and the tremors came back immediately, along with the left head pain. After 2 hours, the tremors calm down.
I had a minor car accident with whiplash about 10 years ago and had some minor damage to the spine, neck and head. Could this be the cause of the recent headaches and tremors? I'm scheduled to see a new neurologist in Feb. 2004. What can I tell him/her to get some answers?
Any leads, suggestions are appreciated.
