I have never really had any problems with my kidneys before that I have noticed or known about until lately. A couple of weeks ago I had a couple of days that when I went ot the bathroom i was having some pain and blood in my urine. I haven't had any blood in my urine since, and the pain isn't as bad as before, more of a a uncomfortable feeling then anything. I also have a lot of problem with getting really bloated, or water retention.
My question is do I need to have it checked out, or since the bleeding has quit is it probobly ok again.

Hi,
I would very much suggest that you get it checked out. It is more than likely nothing, maybe an infection, but any time there is blood, check it out. Better safe than sorry...and face it, you will feel much better knowing that nothing is wrong. If you only ignore it, than you will always have a question if everything is OK or not.
I have just had an IVP today to check out the flow of my kidneys. Also an utrasound last week which found a smaller kidney on the one side than the other. I am a bit concerned, but at least we are getting it checked. If and when the doc says OK, than I will feel MUCH better..till then, I am a bit nervous and scarred....but I just have to have faith. I also have a lot of tight feeling pain in my back. That was what started this whole thing. So please, please go see a doc and get some tests...
Take care of yourself and good luck!

Hello Packers...Read my new entry. We have spent a small fortune of tests, specialists, etc. All in vain. But know what? Something is causing the bloody urine. Keep on searching until you have the answers, then you will have conclusions. The body is a strange creature and many hidden devices to be discovered. Hiding places for stones, stone composition that can not be detected in tests. Just keep the faith and be deligent in the search.
