any info great! thanks xxx Sponsor Frustrated1 10-24-2003, 09:20 PM Once the initial BM have ended I normally feel light-headed, especially after extremely bad BM. I believe it has to do with the loss of water and like what youi would feel after extreme diaherra.
Mara 11-12-2003, 03:37 PM It could be. The root cause could be a reaction to the sugar in milk for example. It does with me and I've experienced those sensations you describe.
Any number of things could contribute to the lightheaded, spaced out, dizziness. You could be reacting to the sugar which is what initially happened with me. They did a 3 hour glucose tolerance test (they were looking for Diabetes and p.s.-there is a 5hr GTT specific for hypoglycemia but I guess if your having a problem with sugar something will show up with either one) and discovered I was hypoglycemic. When I ate something high in sugar it would make my blood sugar level drop and it made me very sleepy and all you describe. So, I keep my sugar intake in-check by balancing my diet. For example, I won't have a yogurt alone because that translates to a dairy-sugar. I eat something with protein to balance it out. Exactly what you describe happened after I had a yogurt. I got dizzy and felt sick. I saw a nutritionist and she helped me with that. Disequilibrium and dizziness can be caused by sinus congestion that could be triggered by a reaction to a chemical sensitivity. That could be from a food, pollen, dander, dust, perfume-you name it. Like, walking down the scented candle and potpourri isle or the detergent isle. Catching a whiff there will give me a headache and make me dizzy. I've had vertigo (dizziness) and sometimes would get room spins that made me feel nauseated, gate disturbance, head fog, vision-focus problems, excessive heat, a drop in blood pressure or body temperature, sneezing or coughing hard, dehydration, changes in altitude, headaches, allergy and so on. I am LI and get the reactions you describe. Fun eh :) Take Care, G Emily Print 11-13-2003, 11:13 AM Lactose intolerance can give you cramps etc but if you have lactose intolerance you should also be tested for Coeliac (Celiac) disease (gluten intolerance) because this condition can cause all the symptoms you describe.
Lactose intolerance can be a condition assiociated with Celiac Disease. Lactose intolerance may be temporary & you may recover if you give up milk & milk products for a while. Gluten intolerance (coeliac Disease) is for life & requires a strict GF diet. I advise you to have a CD test. hi, i was just wondering if anyone knew whether being lactose intolerant could make you feel lightheaded/spaced outish/dizzy in addition to cramps/gas/etc? any info great! thanks xxx |
