Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there is a valid reason to have to get the tests if I have absolutely no intention of getting the shots? I am pretty much aware of the allergens to which I am allergic (dust, mites, mold, pet dander (and I have two cats), some outdoor stuff probably...)
I went to an allergist recently because I wanted to get the pulmonary function tests, as I felt I was getting asthma-like symptoms. I had been taking clarinex and flonase, but recently my symptoms, especially mucous in my chest, had been bad. I suspect it is in a large part due to the mold in my air-conditioning unit (I have fought with the office and they are going to replace the air-handler). The doctor didn't seem to think mold is necessarily a problem for allergies - which I think is a totally crazy notion - I think the mold is VERY bad...
He was a bit annoyed that I did not want to get the tests. I am supposed to see him again next week. I still have no intention of getting the tests.
He gave me Singulair samples, and they seem to be working pretty well. When I wake up, there is much less mucous in my chest, though my sinus/right cheek is still swollen. Is anyone else taking Singulair? If so, what has been your experience?
Thanks!!
