hello...

.....two days ago I began having a soreness in my right eye when I move it to the upper left or bottom right it.... it doesn't seem to feel like it's in the eye-lid itself.... probably further back..... sometimes I there may be just a slight "feeling" in the eye.... but that could just be my concentrating on it too much....

.....my vision is completely normal.... it feels like it might be puffed.... but it doesn't look swollen to me....

....also, I have not been bashed in the eye at all... I'm thinking I might have gotten something in my eye after rubbing it with my hands...

....any ideas what it might be? I hope it's not serious at all....

thanks

What kind of soreness? Is it an ache or a sharp pain? Does it feel like there is something in there? It could be a corneal abrasion. Is the eye red or swollen? You should go to the ophthalmologist right away. Tell them you are having eye pain and it is an emergency and they should get you right in. Is there any mucus coming out of the eye?

it's kind of a dull soreness..... no sharp pains.... not an ache either.... it only happens when I move my eye in the mentioned directions....

....the eye is not red, and does not looks swollen to me..... there is nothing coming out of the eye.... and my vision is perfect....

do you think it could be computer eye strain? I've had to spend a LOT of time in front of it recently....

Yes, that sounds like it could be it. Give your eyes a rest and give them a break from the computer for a few days. They're probably tired and strained. If that doesn't help, then go see an ophthalmologist for a complete exam.

ok

....tonight I'm experience a "slightly" sharp pain that comes very briefly and goes away when I gently rub my eye.....

.......I think I've experienced this before so I'm not worrying about this part much.....

....it's late.... so maybe that's why..... well.... I'll update you in the morning on how it is then......

....I do appreciate your help :)

(btw, I've decided that if it has not gotten better by the end of this week or beginning of next, I'm scheduling an appointment with my doc.... who would look and see if I should be refered to an ophthalmologist)

I actually have the same thing. It started a couple of days ago with my left eyelid swelling up. It's not swollen anymore, but now there is a bump on my eye near my browbone. It doesn't hurt anymore, but i have had a dull headache the last few days.

Do you wear contacts by chance?

I had some pain like you were describing at one point in time....so I hauled butt to my eye doc and he took a look....turns out I was wearing my contacts too much and was 'sufficating' my eyes...

Good, that's probably the best thing to do. Hopefully your primary care doctor won't give you a problem getting a referral. Mine doesn't even attempt to examine my eyes himself!

You know, I just thought of another possible reason for your strange eye soreness. Do you wear glasses? If so, maybe it is time to get your prescription updated. Vision problems can certainly cause what you are describing.

The eye may be trying to compensate for the other. Or it could be the eye fatigue especially since you have been working at the computer for longer. There are screen shields for computer monitors thathelp reduce eye fatigue. It would be a good idea to get your vision checked. Take Care

This definately sounds like iritis to me. If the eye ball is sore when you push on it and it hurts when you look up or to the side. You need to see an eye doctor right away as this can be serious if not treated. He will tell you what it is and if it's iritis, you will need steroid drops.

I had this a few times before. Sometimes it would go away and not get as bad before I knew what it was....but the last episode it got really bad and I had to see the eye doctor.

If you look up iritis in your search it will tell you more. It's also known as utivis(spelling?)

I have had this soreness too, and still do 3 days after the procedure. The doctor listed pain as a possibility in his written instructions. He gave me an eyedrop which his assistant called like Tylenol for pain. It is called Allergan Acular PF. Mypain is not typical. I have had eye pain before. What about RESTASIS for pain caused by dry eyes? LYLE
