View Full Version : Paradox Effect?

I have had this problem as long as I can remember.

A vast majority of the medications I've taken in the past, whether OTC or prescription, either don't work at all or they do the opposite of what they're meant to do.

In July, I had blood drawn for preg tests on 2 different days. They both came back positive, but when they checked the HCG level, it was zero, so both tests were wrong.

I was supposed to take Ambien a while back to help me sleep, it kept me up for 3 days. I felt like I was on some kind of speed or something.

Those are the types of things going on.

I asked a Dr about it a few months ago & they said it was known as the "Paradox Effect". I've looked this up every which way I know how & have never run across that term on the internet regarding medication. The Dr couldn't explain why it happens.

It's driving me nuts. Have any of you ever heard of this or experienced it? Does anyone know where to find information on it?

The term is "paradoxical effect". Try typing in "drugs" "paradoxical effect" into your search engine.
Good luck!
