I had sex on July 2 and was not active and am not active to this day and I tested on October 10 and was negative... so my doctor told me not to test again at 6 months since I am not sexually active and I did test at 3 months... The thing is that I have been under so much stress since July and depressed and I hope that it doesn't affect any test. I have a lot of phlegm in my thraot, my back hurts (it comes and goes) and my genitals are always red. I had n STD culture done on September 29 and it was negative. So my doctor still tells me that it is all due to stress... I don't want to retest at 6 months so I hope that yes my test was accurate enough... Sex on July 2 and tested on October 10...

Your test at 3 months is accurate. Stress can do a number of things to you. I went through a severe depression problem (because of guilt and fear of HIV), that lasted for about 7 months. I had a set of tests at 3 months. All negative. Then I retested with Home Access again at 6 months, convinced that I had HIV. Tested negative once again. I was treated for depression and extreme anxiety, with Prozac. It worked wonders. And today I feel great. Maybe if you talk to a good shrink you can sort this out. It seems HIV is not your problem.
