I'm a 38 year old lady with years of suffering with type 1 diabetes along with the complications that accompany long term diabetes. I recently had blood work done and am freaking out over the results. The doctor is sending me to an endocronologist and wants me to be put in the hospital and put on the insulin pump since years of trying everything except that has failed. I want to know my chances. This doctor acted like I would not live long if we couldn't get things under control. My father died from juvenile diabetes as well at the young age of 30 and I seem to have inherited that with all the blood diseases that go with it.
My Triglycerides are 707. Normal rage should not exceed 150.
Cholesterol was 280 and normal is below 200.
chloride was low 96?
AST was 43 and ALT was 48. I think that is the liver enzymes and doc said those were high.
My fasting blood sugar was 227 and my Hemogobin A1c was 10.3
Basically they told me I was a walking time bomb. I feel bad all the time and am constantly sick with sinusitis so bad that it usually terns into a strep throat as well or an upper respiratory infection and of course with any infection that raises the blood sugar. My immune system seems to be so bad since I've had diabetes. I just lost my step dad Christmas eve and have moved in with my mom cause she is scared to be alone. All this stress was over whelming and now all this. It's driving me crazy but I know I have to do something if I want to live. In addition a recent colonoscopy revealed a hernia. I have different doctors scheduled for every day of the weak almost. help.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

My heart goes out to you. I hope that you can get your diabetes under control. It runs in my family as well. It sounds to me that alot has happend to you and your family over the years, I just want to say that I will keep you in my prayers. I am a firm believer that diet and a healthy outlook on life can conquer all. If your body is giving up, there is nothing you can do. Your spirit will live on. Just have faith that things will work out the way they are supposed to. I hope for all the courage and love come to you and yours...

Dardar, I think you should post your diabetic issues in the diabetic message board. You might get more responces there. I too have had diabetis since I was 11 and now at 46 I have complacations too. I can certinly relate to your problems. Seems like everything can hinder a diabetics mood swings. If you are still checking for responces reply to me and then we can do some more chatting in the diabetic section. Redfern lady.

I am not diabetic , but my mother and several people in my family are. Your stress is a huge factor in you blood sugar. My mother is a school teacher and she has been under so much stress there that her endocinologist has urged her to quit her job. I know it is easier said than done, but you have to find some way to reduce your stress level.

Thank you so much for your love and prayers. It's greatly appreciated. I'm sorry I didn't post it in the diabetes place. I'm new here and don't know how to do anything. Things have been so crazy that I am just now reading all the responses and I'm surprised to see so many diabetics here too. It makes me feel like im not alone.
