Does anyone know, if transfering your weight onto your good leg, would this weaken it.
I use 2 walking canes so that I can walk, to give me a proper swing of gait.My hip was affected.
I really could have a Sciatic nerve or peroneal nerve lesion.
Hoisting myself out of a chair, using my hands and not my feet, and now I have a pain in my hand. I think twisting and turning your body does not help.

Lutonian~
I really don't know the answer to your question..but I was wondering, have you had and emg/ncv test with a neurologist??
Weakness is seen in many conditions beside ALS. It must be hard to get out of chairs without using your feet :( I can only imagine how frustrated you must be.
I hope the doctors can help you.
Renee :)
