I have been having test at my neurologist because he fears that I have ALS. I have muscle twitching, severve muscle atrophy of my shoulder girdle muscles. In my MRI it showed signifigant degeneration in my spinal cord. Has anyone else seen this result from a test?

Thanks in advance.

I too have left shoulder atrophy, thats where it all started. I can hardly raise my left arm. My right arm is also getting weaker, however, I dont recall my MRI
showing any degeneration. Of course the cervical and the lumbar vertabraes are looked at first when atrophy is involved, a damaged nerve can result in enough trauma to cause muscles dying. good luck, and try not to worry, trust your Dr. but, keep demanding answers, and more test to confirm his findings.
