Hi guys,

As I posted on slaughter's thread, I have an appointment with Neuro Doc on July 25.
When they called back with appt, receptionist left message on my machine. She said I was scheduled for an EMG and nerve conduction test.

I wish I could just go in and talk first, maybe do some walking or muscle strength tests. I am afraid of the tests and this is the first time seeing a Doc for this. I wasn't even referred, I called.

Would anyone please read my post under "Thank you all" --slaughter17 and tell me if you think the Doc is moving too fast?

Thanks

Yes, the EMG is the most important test they do to see whats goin on with your motor neurons. I dont think he is going to fast, better than to slow. Good luck! and I pray that everything is ok. Try not to worry, I know thats hard to do, but keep your spirites up.

You are right. That is one of the first tests they run. They also do a test on your muscle strength. Pushing down on your arms and legs while you try to push up. They will rate how much resistance you can do. I was there when my dad had this test. He said it wasn't painful just uncomfortable. But then again, my dad had a high tolerance for pain. They will also draw your blood, if they havn't already. My dad's blood work came back with unusaully high metals and proteins. I read my dad's medical records once, and it stated in all his blood work that he had high levels of the protien Kinase C. Well, now that I think about it....I want to read his records again. (I think I will.) I think your doctors are not going to fast. It is better to go fast than years later not knowing what is wrong. My dad's doctors were very slow at finding out what was wrong. I pray you find out soon. please keep us informed. There are so many motor nueron diseases to go through first. ALS is the master of mimcs.
