I see so many posts of ppl who have been waiting a year or 2 for a DX, try waiting 4 years. I have just recently found a doctor who was willing to listen - and he actually ordered tests I have been begging for for the last 3 years - It is a sad state; however, when doctors have to be told WHAT to do to help their patients rather than doctors being there to do their jobs and DX whatever is wrong.... the flu, cancar, lupus, and yes even ALS!!!

Even sadder than that is the Doctor's who would rather write a quick prescription rather than work to get an answer..... what happened to the "REAL DOCTORS"???

I have my forst EMG next week (August 14, 2003) after 2 dozen blood tests, 2 LP's, 2 MRI's, 1 CT Scan and being asked so many times if these symptoms are "related to your menstral cycle". My thyroid has decided to abandon me, since it was blamed for everything first HAHAHA And my veins are pretty well ready to turns in their 2 week notice if I puncture them again..... =)

In any case, if it weren't for the doctors I am sure I would have been dx'd years ago!!

thanks for listening!

I am in total agreement with you on that one! I feel the same frustration. What has happend to doctors these days. They are not practicing medicine for the right reasons anymore. But, you have to look at it throught their eyes. There are still good docs out there. It's the insurance companies that rule now. Did you know that if you have an HMO most doctors will lie to you about certain treatments or diagnoses because your insurance won't cover it. So what ever the insurance companies says GOES! I hate that. Why even have doctors if insurance companies are going dictate what kind of care you CAN recieve.
