Hi,
My mother suffers from a strange eye illness for which we have tried a lot of things, but to no success.

The problem is that, say for example you look at something bright you tend to decrease your eyelids to prevent the light from coming in. That's how my mothers eyes are always, even when it's night time. Her cheeks are always squashed up due to her eyes and a lot of pressure builds up around her forehead, and sometimes has difficuty in doing household work.

Doctor's put it down to depression, but my mum doesn't agree. Has anyone come across such an illness who could advise on what to do?

I also suffer inside looking at my mothers condition & wished that this could be identified and cured.

Thank you in advance.
Tany

I would get a second opinion, especially from an othamologist and a internist.

Sounds like she is having a difficult time seeing and is squinting in order to see.

Thank you for your reply. Could you tell me what is an othamologist and a internist, as I have never come across these terms? This way I could mention it to my mothers doctor.

Another point also, is that my mother had some (I don't know the correct terms) electric currents/shock to her head a long time ago after giving birth - I wonder if this could have caused some damage?

Anyhow thanks once again.

Tany
