Hello. Does anyone have any suggestions on what treatments/medicines can relieve pain due to rectal mucosa edema? I am currently using Canasa 500 mg suppositories and they have not relieved any of my symptoms. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Treatment depends on what caused your inflammation. There are many causes but are ussualy broken down into four groups; sexually-transmitted disease, non-sexually transmitted infection, autoimmune disease and noxious agents. Antibitocis are used if it's due to an organism. If it's due to crohn's or ulcerative colitis, corticosteroid or mesalamine suppositories may be used.
