Whoa! I am dizzy! I have not gotten dizzy from any of my exercises before but since I have been making my eyes focus back and forth and up and down and so forth I do not feel very good! I just plain feel dizzy. I am nauseated and just can't shake it. Is this normal? I started doing them yesterday thru the day and it didn't really hit me until this afternoon and this evening. Did I do to much or is this to be expected?
Help!
Thanks!
Vicki

Also, the dizzyness and the nausea are coming and going. I'll feel fairly good and then all of the sudden, ugh! Is that normal? I am not looking forward to going to bed, but I am not taking any medication. But I did manage to sit and watch a movie on a big screen TV even feeling this way so maybe it will be fine.
Thanks for you info!

Hi Vicki
...."Is this normal?"....
For me it was---just shows you how much the brain's equilibrium center was relying on "vision" and now your forcing it to also take the vestibular systems inputs into consideration---and---it don't like that!!! :bouncing:
..."I started doing them yesterday thru the day and it didn't really hit me until this afternoon and this evening."......
For me there was always a delay---some times as much as 24 hours---before the old brain---let me know it was not happy---having another signal input--to take into consideration---it sort of got use---to---and kind of lazy---from using only the other two signal inputs.
...."Did I do to much or is this to be expected?".....
No---doubt you did to much---and for me I expected it(after I figured out with the Neuro-oto) what was going on.
Welcome to "recovery road"---no "rose gardens" along this road---there all at the end of it :)

Hi, Subs!
Thanks for writing! Last night was kind of rough! I just plain felt dizzy thru the night, had a hard time going to sleep but finally did. It was different than what I have been experiencing in that it just seemed like plain dizziness. I didn't have the feeling that things were going to go out of control. Didn't really have any tension or fear like I usually have. Anyway, just different so I am sure it is from the eye exercises.
I woke up feeling fairly good. Not dizzy like last night, but awful tense neck. I will continue to do the eye exercises.
What eye exercises did you do? I am making my eyes go back and forth then up and down focusing on some spot. Going as fast as I can and still making my eyes meet the object before moving them back. And I am also just focusing on points thru the day, for about 30 seconds or so, making my eyes "stay there". What really gets me is when there is something fairly close to me and I go from side to side. Whew!
Also, did you do anything for your stiff neck? I have been doing some stretching, but it sure seems like it just makes my neck more sore. I have also put therma wraps on my neck for short periods at a time. Not sure what is best. My balance therapist has suggested yoga but that is hard to do with such a stiff neck and being movements I have never done in my life. Not real comfortable with that right now.
Anyway, thanks again for the help. It is SO greatly appreciated! Hope you have a great day!!!
Blessings!
Vicki

Hi Vicki
..."What eye exercises did you do?"....
Nothing spectacular---just the one your doing---focus on an object 6 to 10 feet away---look away from that object to another---at least 6 to 10 feet apart---focus on that one---close your eyes and look back to the first--when you open them---you should be focused exactly on the object---any deviation---indicates---vestibular signals/brain still has not got it yet---focus on the first object close your eyes look back to the second---open---you should be exactly focused on that object....etc.....etc...until...you can do it...or you get tired.
I think I did that at least three times a day---maybe more---if I felt ok---but always got the delayed 24 or more hour reaction....until...my brain....got it--took awhile but eventually---the brain got it---yours will also!

Hello,
Don't have anything to add, as Subs seems to have covered it all. Although, very interesting Subs, that you also experienced a delayed reaction - seems this is not that uncommon.
best,
