Jav1492 03-19-2001, 12:06 PM I have recently discovered the benefits of echanecia and zinc supplements for colds but I wondered if there were any herbal or alternative remmedy for seasonal allergies? Sponsor rhody 03-20-2001, 03:46 PM Yes, this natural remedy worked for me, when I lived in Colorado. It appeared that the ragweed pollen was the culprit. It happened every summer, when the winds blew, and the prarie weeds grew tall. At one point, my nose was running so continuously that I was starting to bleed all the time. I was just getting ready to visit the doctor, when a friend mentioned to me an alternative medicine for this. He said that his wife's last doctor recommended it. His wife had such severe allergies, that he said that they drilled holes in her sinuses, to alleviate the problem. They kept switching doctors because nothing worked until this one suggested something that made her well. And it worked for me too. Numerous other people that I talked to in Colorado, said that they had the same positive result, after I suggested that they try it too. This may not work for everyone, and with any self-treatment please see a doctor for consulation, to make sure that it isn't something more serious etc. What he told me to do was to mix an Aloe Vera solution with about a 50/50 mix of water, and put it into both nostrils before going to bed at night. It stung for a minute or two. I let it soak thoroughly into the membranes. The next day, my running nose stopped to the point of only having to blow my nose only a few times a day. It was great. It continually got better to the point of it not being a problem. Over the years that I lived there, slowly the apparent allergy to ragweed disappeared. I was grateful that someone told me about this Aloe Vera and water mixture, in the meantime. As there are a variety of Aloe Vera products available, be sure that you get the ones that are appropriate for this type of treatment. chanel 03-23-2001, 06:45 PM MSM works for me |
