I would like some information on the effects of Kava on borderline high blood pressure. I'm not sure if Kava helps this or simply eases anxiety. I am having trouble finding information on natural substances for lowering blood pressure. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Jav1492, I've not heard of using kava for B/p issues, and in a quick search thru my reference books, can't find anything to support it. Though, as an anti-anxiety effect, it COULD lower B/p. But there are other risks that may not make it worth it. THere have been issues of (temporary) liver damage, excessive central nervous system depression, negative interactions with other drugs/medications, and more. It is also said to produce a 'buzz' similar to that of marijuana.
On the other hand, you may want to explore the use of rosemary (rosmarinus officinalis) and its uses in B/p reduction.
