Its very possible to be in love with somone with HIV. And its even possible for the two of you to live long, healthy lives together, as long as EVERY precaution is used. You will need testing frequently to make sure you havent contracted the virus, and immediate care if you have. You should weigh the consequences to the relationship, such as the need for repeated testing, possibility of infection, and the fact that death is inevitable, and will NOT be an easy thing to live with.

The desicion to have a relationship, sexual or otherwise, is only something you can decide. Just think it through.

Muchconfused, I was in a relationship with someone who was positive and we had a great time together. The first thing you need to remember is you can't have a relationship if you are going to be consumed with fear. As Maybe Helpful posted there's that possibility of infection, though not likely if you use caution, but it can still happen. You have to be willing to accept the consequences without blame...that means to your partner or yourself!!! Our relationship ended because he was more concerned for me than I was. Though we were intimate he didn't want to take any more chances infecting me. We are still great friends and always will be! If you choose to pursue this relationship make sure if it ends the 2 of you will be able to maintain a close friendship otherwise you might lose what you already have! Take care!
