Eventhough I have normal to oily skin, I do not want to use any of those cleansers made for oily skin anymore, they just dry it out and mess up the natural balance. I really need a facial cleanser that removes make-up, but keeps skin from drying... It has to be something I can get from Wal-Mart or a drugstore, or *maybe* from The Body Shop or something like that, but nothing you have to order online or purchase from a dermatologist. Also, it has to be something that doesn't clog pores. I would use the regular Dove bar, but it is a much too high pH level for the face, so I don't want to use that either, perhaps the new Dove line for the face would be good? Please recommend something. I'd SO much appreciate it! Thank you.

I see that you mentioned that you don't want to use the regular dove bar, but what about the one for sensitive skin? I've been using it for a few months now and my skin loves me for it.

I would recommend Cetaphil sold at Walmart or Walgreens.

Thanks for the replies. Surrealmeal, I think all the Dove soaps have the same pH level so I don't use on my face, also because soap is clogging to the pores, but I use it on my body. Abbey32, I'm using Cetaphil already, just started back using it a few days ago, but I don't know if it cleans makeup very well. Actually my skin has completely dried out and peeling from some over-drying products I used and I"m trying to deal with that too. So I think the Cetaphil is good, but I need some great moisturizer. Well thanks again. :)

i would strongly suggest the new dove for face line. i have been using it for several months now. and i love it. it doesn't dry or make my face oily. i didn't care for the non- foaming cleanser, so i started using the exfoliating cleanser that dove makes. i use the liquid on my face and it seem to have cleared up all my blotches and pimples. its also good for the rest of the body, but i only use it on my body once a week. for some reason i am afraid to get used to using such nice soap.
the day lotion is really nice for winter time when my skin has a tendency to be dry and icky from the wind. use it very sparingly, because used liberally, it does cause an oily feeling.
good luck!

I recommend Purpose liquid cleanser. It is very mild. My dermatologist told me to use it.

I think everyone's skin is different and what someone else may love you may hate. I have tried the new Dove line and there was nothing special about it for me.
If you are willing to spend money I LOVE Philosophy's stuff. It is made by a dermatologist and sold on www.qvc.com or www.philosophy.com or at Nordstroms. I love the whole line but to get started I would recommend the starter kit which comes with a cleanser...really mild and gentle and removes all makeup and eye makeup, a moisterizer and an eye cream to die for. And I also would recommend their microdermabrasion scrub and 1 minute facial called greatest love and great mystery. The starter kit is about $48 and the scrub and facial is about $40 for both. I can only get them when I am not broke but when I do have them, my skin glows! They last a long time too...you don't need a lot of product. And their perfume called Falling in Love...WOW!!

Every dermatologist I've ever gone to has recommended Cetaphil (liquid). I've used it for years. No need to spend a lot of money. Also, you still have to use a moisturizer if your skin needs it, which mine does. Never use soap of any kind.

Cetaphils a good gentle cleanser but it doesn't really remove makeup very well.

I have recently discovered Simplicity - Milk Thistle Cleanser.
It is at Bath and Body Works, for about $8.00. My skin tends to get very dry in the winter, and this is helping.

MAC cosmetics makes a very good liquid creamy face cleanser for about $15.00 a bottle...it takes off all makeup (including eye makeup) and rinses off with water. It also leaves your face very smooth and not dry at all. You can either get MAC online or in Nordstrom's or other dept. stores.
If you're looking for a drugstore brand, try Aveeno products...very gentle on sensitive skin, or even any of the Oil of Olay cleansers are good, and they leave your skin feeling smooth, but not dry.

Thank you for all of the suggestions, today I bought Oil of Olay Gentle Foaming Face Wash with Aloe, for Sensitive Skin. Washed my make-up off and didn't feel dry so far, but don't know yet if I like it or not, I'll see how it works out. :)
