I know exactly what you are talking about. I use garlic, bee propolis and aloe vera. i never get sick. just one thing. i stopped taking the "real" garlic and now take it in a pill. it took me a while to find a good maker of garlic pills.

Hi Jasmine,
Pretty good advice. One thing to consider, perhaps, is that sugar actually suppresses immune function http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif, so this formula may work lots better if the sugar is eliminated. I would imagine it is there mostly for flaver enhancement.

I use a similar concoction, but I use pure honey instead of sugar plus I add some fresh ginger.
Works great with me.

Instead of sugar and honey, try Stevia.
Stevia is an extraordinarily sweet herb...200-300 times sweeter than
sugar. It has a slight licorice-like flavor that most of us with a
sweet tooth, and all the children we have ever met, love. For some
people who only like the taste of real sugar it may take a little
getting used to, but it has such important medicinal value that it is
well worth learning to love. Stevia is almost calorie-free, so weight watchers love it. It is
ideal for children since it prevents cavities. Unlike sugar, it does
not trigger a rise in blood sugar. You won't get a sudden burst of
energy followed by fatigue and a need for another "fix." Most
imporantly for our purposes, it does not feed yeast or other
microorganisms, and it increases energy and aids digestion by
stimulating the pancreas. A tiny pinch of the powder is so potent that most people put in too
much and find that it is just too sweet for them.

What you describe sounds good, except for the sugar which I avoid. One clove of fresh uncooked garlic in mashed potatoes or pizza is what I do. It definitely works for me too!!!
As I just wrote on another post here, to reduce the odor of the garlic afterwards, I eat a dried apricot, usually in the evening after consuming the garlic. About 12 hours later, I take another dried apricot in the following morning. I just discovered this technique myself accidentally.

Interesting that you say that "it took you awhile to find a good maker of garlic pills" I was under the assumption that any any all name brands were equal in quality. So, would it be safe to say that there is a war of products even in the Herbal line? This would make me believe that the almighty dollar is spreading to the alternative line. THAT"S SCARY!!!

All Brand's are not the same! Don't think for one minute they are. There are companies out for a quick dollar and there are companies with your health in mind.
There are ton's of new companies climbing on the band wagon for quick profits and there are a few old companies which have been selling herbal products for 30 or more years.
Big difference to what's in the bottle!

My late Mother, an old fashioned Italian born woman would chew on raw garlic everyday. She swore by this. It's something that I was never able to do although I use a lot of garlic in my cooking. She passed away two years ago at age 99 (she outlived many of her Doctors). I'm not contributing her long life to raw garlic but it may have helped.
