About 6 days ago I finished 2 weeks of antibiotics, ammoxicillin and biaxin and also prevacid, still on the prevacid, I feel like crap. I have burning sensation in my stomach and heartburn which sometimes feels like a sharp stabbing pain. When I get the sharp pain I feel nauseated and light-headed and very fatigued. If I didn't already have a stress test 2 months ago I would think I was having a heart problems. These were also some of the symptoms prior to my diagnosis of H. Pylori.
I'm getting kind of frustrated I've felt bad for about 9 months now. I know some of you have suffered much longer. How do you stand it?
Have any of you still felt horrible after your antibiotic treatment?

Sometimes the treatment causes problems like gastritis and yeast infection and it certainly is not unusual. The antibiotics clean out the friendly bacteria as well as the unfriendly-- candida overgrowth and stomach inflammation does happen with these strong antibiotics. It can be a pain if not treated or diagnosed properly. It happened to me.
The breath test can tell if you are free of the ulcer causing H.pylori bacteria. It is usually conducted several weeks after the antibiotic treament.
Taking a probiotic supplement may help and eating a good brand of yogurt is sometimes benificial. The PPI should help the inflammation of the stomach. As you know an ulcer,if that is what you had, is an open sore in the lining of the stomach and it does take a period to heal after the bacteria is done in???

I experienced the same thing. I got another endoscope 2 months after my treatment of H. Pylor and they found out that there was no H. Pylori anymore. The affects of Biaxin can be long lasting as it is a very harsh drug. I would suggest a bland diet for a few weeks. The "triple therapy" treatment is very effective IMHO, however, I'm not a doctor.
