I started taking Topamax in 25 mg tablets at bedtime and am now up to 200 mg at bedtime & have not had a migraine headache in 2 months now. I am so greatfull!!! I hear that weight loss is a side affect that will begin soon. I have two friends that have lost 50 & 60+ pounds so far...... The side affects I have noticed are loss of appetite. Thirst for water. I have also noticed a loss of words at times. Diet coke also tastes different. Like ice water. Which is strange to me. My friends tell me these side affects go away with time.

Yup! The side effects of Topamax are a doozy. :eek: Reason why I asked my doctor not to increase my dosage from 25mgs.
I take 2 pills a day every AM. I started in July.
For me the Topamax stopped my insomnia dead in its tracks.! YIPEEEEEEEE.

So far I've lost 15lbs & have stablized in the weight loss.
All soda still taste like selzer water. (I drink 1 can of Pepsi a day)
Mind is still fuzzy & I still have forgetfullness but not as bad as initially.

My migrianes are now much more manageable & I have more good days than bad. :D
