I have been looking for some kind of answer to some head pain I have been experiencing over a week now. I have pressure sometimes pain in my temples short lived stabbing pains on the left side of my head and when I look/bend down or lie down the pain becomes sharp.
I also have a pulling sensation in my eyes. More toward the front and sides.
I went to an optometrist who said it was not my eyes and saw a doctor Friday that wanted me to make an appointment for an MRI to check for aneurysm. I am getting the MRI in a couple of days but have to wait a week for an appointment with my doctor for the results.
I have had migraines about 11 years ago, but have not experienced these kind of sensations with them nor have I had them in 11 years.
I have tried looking for information on aneurysms but it seems to be the only symptom I can find is headaches. I'm wondering if anyone knows more about aneurysms, or could provide a link to a site that maybe I missed while looking for one in the past 500 hours.
This is very frustrating and scary for me. I was hoping for a little insight.
Any info is greatly appreciated. :)

Could be a return of migraines or a new round of them due to peri-menopause. I know that the migraines I get now are different than the ones I used to get before menopausal symptoms started. Also have your neck and shoulders checked out for herniated discs or muscle problems. Have you tried any migraine meds like Imitrex or Zomig? Do you do a lot of computer work- I know that computer time will cause my eyes to feel tired, dry, pulled and burning. Sinus infection can cause headaches-did dr check for infection? Hope this gives you some ideas. May want to check with an eye specialist (eye surgon) to be sure.

Dear Michele, I suffered from "supposed" migraines for over 10 years, with no meds helping very much. Also, had 3 sinus surgeries and after my last one, had problems with my vision and severe headaches. Finally went to an opti-neurologist, and with symptoms of severe, daily headaches, pain and pressure behind and around the eyes, ringing in ears, body fatigue, headaches worse on bending over, led him to do a spinal tap on me, which a diagnoses was that I had benine intracranial hypertension. It is when there is too much cerebral fluid surrounding the brain. In a normal person, the fluid is absorbed, but with a person that hasd ptc, it builds up, which leads to pain and pressure. Usually, this disease can be controlled with medicine, that lowers the pressure, but sometimes(in my case) had to get a shunt put in to relieve the pressure. PTC can lead to blindness if not treated early, so it can be serious. I hope you don't have this, but all of your'e symptoms sound like mine. The only true way to see if you have this is to have a spinal tap to read the pressure. Good luck, hope this helped. Hugs,Susan from Iowa

I had an anerysm. To make a long story short, I was being treated for sinus problems. My headache was slightly to the left and seemed centered around my left eye. I followed the treatment and prescriptions for sinus, until one day I was literally unable to lift my head off my pillow. I had my DH call ER. I remember being carried out but after that there's a blank. I'm told I had two CTs and nothing showed. Hospital staff thought I had menigitis (sp?) until the spinal tap came back negative. Finally, I had an MRI and the ruptured aneurysm showed. So it is a very good idea that you've scheduled a MRI. It's much better to be safe, than sorry. Wishing you all the best.

Hi Michele ,i read your letter and i pretty much had the same symtoms, it started about 2 years ago and i had a ongoing headache for about 2 weeks i actually felt like I was hung over day after day, i had the pulling in the eyes blurred vision and lost sight out of one side for small periods of time, well i finally went to the doctor and he also sent me for a mri ,it came back and said i could have possible chiari malformation ,i had not a clue what it was i had to try to educate myself on it, but anyway he wanted me to see a neurologist who looked at the mri and asked me some questions thankfully he ruled out the chiari malformation but still to this day we have not figured out what causes my headaches i still get them occasionaly , he did put me on some medications and had me try migrane medicines but i got very weird reactions to them , i hope your mri results come back ok and if you every find a pain relief for your headaches please let me know, sincerly tracy

Hi Tracy,
I too have the hangover headache in the eyes and one of my neuro's sent for new brain MRI to rule out chiari and CSF leakage - they said it was negative also - which is a good thing, but I still have this crazy headache that feels like a hangover with terrible eye pain that is much worse when I roll my eyes around in the socket - I also feel like there is a bow and arrow thru my temples and the stomach upset, gas, and malaise are driving me insane - I also yawn alot! I see a new neuro tomorrow - please write back if you have any suggestions.
thanks,
syb
