Normally I post on the general board, having just had a tonsillectomy yesterday (and I am doing ok pretty much for the most part--not as much pain as I expected--more or less discomfort from not being able to eat/swallow). Anyhow, I ventured to this board because over the last several months I have gotten a strange condition (don't know if there is a name for it) whereby after I eat, sometimes I get this funny noise in my stomach, as if my stomach is farting. It's not the kind of farting where it comes out of my butt (sorry to be graphic but how else was I going to describe), it just stays within my stomach. It's more of a rumbling noise, and it comes and goes. Sometimes it will make the noise every few minutes, other times it's more intermittent. It got worse after I had food poisoning 2 weeks ago. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich in a restaurant, woke up in the middle of the night with the chills, vomitting diarhea etc. The upset stomach part lasted about a week. Dr said I have post infectious IBS, very common in post food poisoning people. Dr said it takes 2-3 weeks after food poisoning for your stomach to fully recover. Now, of course since I haven't been eating, I don't have the funny noises in my stomach. It happens if I eat french fries---although I just get stomach pains in general if I eat those. I eat healthy for the most part, but get the occasional cravings like everyone else. If someone also has this problem please let me know what I need to do to get rid of it!! Thanks :)
