Every time I eat cheese or some other protein (mostly cheese though) I suffer from a sharp pain in my upper right abdomen and nausea. It always passes after about 15 minutes. Any ideas what this could be?

Sounds like some sort of food interance. Try going awhile without eating any of the aggravating foods and then inroduce one like cheese. If you have no pain until the cheese is introduced, I would say that you are intolerant. Also gallbladder problems can cause symptoms like you are describing and some say fatty foods can trigger a bad gallbladder to hurt worse since bile is needed for breaking down fats. Good luck!
