Since a one night stand I have been very sick I know it is flu season and was at the hospital all night. The doctors have said that it could be the flu but I have only been nauseas and have had extreme pain in my neck and arms going down to my hands. My feet feel like they are very cold and I can't warm them up. It has been about ten weeks since this episode and the only thing that worries me is that the condom may have broken. I am constently fatigue and just want to get back to normal I am in the military and have not been able to perform my duties because of this. I have also the swolen glands in the groin and my girlfriend since being me has been breaking out in hives. I just want to know if anyone who has HIV or knows of someone that does are these symptoms any thing like their first sign of contraction. Also will a test for HIV I took last week be a real answer? Please reply at this time I wouldn't even care for the worst news I am just sick of struggling. Thank you.

"are these symptoms any thing like their first sign of contraction."

There are no set of signs or symptoms for HIV. Everyone reacts diffrently, some have many symptoms, some have a few, some will have none. What you describe COULD be HIV related, but it could also be a cold, a virus, and infection and YES, even stress related.

"Also will a test for HIV I took last week be a real answer?"

How many weeks since your exposure had it been when you took the test? If it was sooner than 13 weeks, I am assuming it was, then it is likley to be a FAIRLY accurate test, but to be 100% sure, well 99%, you need to test after 13 weeks to get a final answer.

I also dont know what your exposure was, to tell you wether ot not it was a high risk or a low one, but it couls make a diffrence in wether or not you need one, or even when you need one.
