Well I never knew there was such a place as this! I've always had medical things I wanted to talk about with somebody. Here it goes... since I was in High School I have always had to poo a lot during the day. And sometimes in the middle of the night. Most of the time it is loose, sometimes very hard, but I seem to go constantly... at least 5 - 6 times a day and I'm normally in the bathroom from 10 - 15 minutes each time. I also always go to the bathroom as soon as I'm done eating, and its normally diarrhea. I work in a very small business with only 20 people and I know they wonder why I'm in the bathroom all the time. I've tried diet changes, fiber, vitamins, you name it. Do you know what this could be caused from? Thanks in advance!

Memilee-
It could be a number of disorders. Almost all gastro intestinel disorders have similar symptoms, its the tests that determine what you have. You could have UC(Ulcerative Coltis), IBS, those are the most common.'
However different bacteriums and viruses can cause similar gastric problems. Have you seen a doctor yet, if not I would go see one. Some medicenes that seem to have good results controling the direahha are lopidrum -sorry no spell check- and there are many refrences to Librax on this site that seem to be faring well with people. Either one of the two isn't pleasant.

Thanks for the reply and advice. I saw a doctor about 4 years ago and at the time was diagnosed through colonoscopy/endoscopy with healing ulcers. He said that was the reason I was having these problems. However, if they were healing 4 years ago, they should be gone right? Why would I keep having the same problem constantly? I don't know what to do about this.

Memilee, what were you diagnosed with? If its crohn's or ulcerative colitis they can flare up again even after they have healed and the ulcers usually come back to the same are, especially with crohn's. One thing my GI doc told me is that if you're having diarreah during the night you do NOT have IBS. Welcome to the boards. This is a great site. I've learned lots on here from others.

hi there - could be gall bladder disease too. Go to your doctor for a definitive diagnosis. Try adding Caltrate + D to your diet too - some people find the calcium supplements help them have formed stools. Take 1 tablet twice daily - more could actually be harmful to your system.
Good luck and keep us posted,

 You may have a parasite causing you to go to the bathroom so many times a day, and causing your loose stools. Some parasites are very hard to detct on the first try (a stool specimen test). Another think that might becausing it is medications you may be taking. When I was on anti-depressants I had what you describe. When I took myself off of them, it stopped. You also could have food allergy that you don't know about. They put stuff in food now a days that can cause all kinds of bowel problems.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your help guys, I guess it's about time i go back to the doctor. The Ulcers I had were stomach ulcers, another doc also told me that I could have IBS... but I mean come on... sometimes I go to the bathroom even if i haven't eaten or anything.... I mean its ridiculous having to go the bathroom as soon as I eat and about 3 times in between meals... how embarrassing. I can't believe I've lived with this for so long... I'll keep you posted! thanks again
